He just tells you as a friend would. Set your camera at this setting, do this, do that, and there you go.
I want to try out everything he explained. It's one of those books I would like to have on hand to h This guys writing will drive you nuts at the beginning because he is constantly joking.
It's one of those books I would like to have on hand to have as a reference or learning companion as I continue to progress in digital photography. Extremely helpful. I would recommend this book to beginners or anyone who doesn't have a clue when it comes to lighting, how far you should stand from your subject, what height to shoot from, or if you want to learn professional techniques.
I would not recommend this book to professionals--you can have the complicated-wording books. The program is developed on the basis of research needs identified by chief administrators and other staff of the highway and transportation departments, by committees of AASHTO, and by the Federal Highway Administration. Research projects to address these topics are defined by NCHRP, and qualified research agencies are selected from submitted proposals.
Administration and surveillance of research contracts are the responsibilities of the National Academies and TRB.
The needs for highway research are many, and NCHRP can make significant contributions to solving highway transportation problems of mutual concern to many responsible groups. The program, however, is intended to complement, rather than to substitute for or duplicate, other highway research programs. All rights reserved. The penultimate chapter gives us miscellaneous tips like why you should carry rain gear, how do defog your lens, creating sun starbursts, and even focus-stacking which I love in my macro work.
Quite useful suggestions: leading lines, mirror-like reflections, foreground elements and the other things we do with landscapes. The fun stuff is he gives camera settings as well as other directions on how to which of these recipes.
As I would expect from this very competent author, the book is a complete manual of landscape photography. Kelby is also an entertaining writer and he does not write down to us.
I would recommend this book to any photographer who wants to get started shooting landscapes. Good for him and good for those of us who get so much enjoyment and benefit from his books. Hchinchilla verified owner June 17, A nice book with a lot of practical guidance.
Very much worth having this valuable tool. It is well written, accurate, contains lots of information even if it is somewhat basic , great graphics and images, superb technical data; all written with a sense of humor and purpose.
I have read many of his books, listened to many of his lectures and partied with him at Photoshop World. If you are a beginner or an advanced photographer that wants to improve your landscape portfolio you must have this book in your library!
